The City
Madrid is renowned for being an accessible city of people from all over the world, and it is always joyful and lively. The streets are bustling with shops of all sorts, restaurants serving international cuisine, and unrivalled nightlife. Madrid will enchant you with its tranquil historic spots, traditional and family-run century-old bars where friends gather for a beer, diverse neighbourhoods, and cultural centres that provide an alternative form of tourism.
Prado and Reina Sofa are the world's most important museums, both located in Madrid and offering the most original paintings and sculpture, as well as architecture and nature. The stunning Royal Palace, the 400-year-old Plaza Mayor, the busy Puerta del Sol, the famous Gran Va with its stores, and Spain's four tallest towers are just a few of the iconic sights. Traditional tapas – small plates of breads, meats, fruits, potatoes, and seafood – are the best thing to try while visiting Spain.
Spring and autumn are the best times to visit Madrid, with May being the best month, and mid-September to mid-October being the best. It is home to over 15,000 trees and flora, including the 400-year-old cypress tree, which is thought to be Spain's oldest tree.
Buen Retiro Park, one of Madrid's largest public parks, is situated near Puerta de Alcala in the city's centre. The park, also known as the Palacio de Cristal del Retiro, was built in the late nineteenth century and is dotted with Gothic-style structures and beautiful museums such as the Prado Museum.
It is hospitable and complex. Madrid is undeniably one of Europe's most fascinating towns. So take a short tour of Madrid, explore the beautiful city, and join us at the medicine congress in 2021.
