Laser Surgery

Laser surgery, short for "Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation," utilizes concentrated light beams for medical procedures. It has a wide range of applications, from tumor removal and blood vessel sealing to addressing skin conditions like warts, moles, tattoos, birthmarks, scars, and wrinkles.

In laser surgery, different skin layers interact with light in varying ways, as certain skin components, known as chromophores, absorb the light, leading to physical, mechanical, chemical, or thermal changes in tissue. Various types of lasers, such as the carbon dioxide laser, YAG (neodymium or yttrium aluminum garnet) laser, and argon laser, are employed for different medical treatments.
